Thank you for visiting our website to learn more about our troop. My name is Tim Hyer and I am the Scoutmaster for Troop 47. We have a great bunch of guys and I know, if you choose to join this troop, the friendships, adventures, and learning possibilities will be endless.
There are several links within our site that will guide you to additional information about our troop and help you to determine if this is the troop for you. To start with, the Our History link will assist you in learning a little bit more about our troop and how we got started. Our Troop Calendar link will show you what we have planned for the year. Also, don't forget to visit the Our Patrols link to meet our patrol leaders. Unfortunately, our Members Only link won't let you read our troop newsletters, view our events photo album or catch up on other really “cool” stuff. But when you decide to join Troop 47 …. all of these links, and more, will be yours!
Troop 47 is a very active troop. We have campouts once per month and there are usually several additional day outings scheduled throughout the year. We have a strong PLC Program (Patrol Leader Council). We conduct our leadership training in-house, at what we like to call our PLC "Boot Camp". The troop has taken several trips to the Grand Canyon and we spend one week at camp during the summer break. Our program is “scout run” and I am very proud of the job these young men do. I won't bore you with too much more information, because I could go on forever.
Please contact me to arrange for a troop visit. We look forward to meeting you.
I leave you with our troop slogan: “Good Scouting, good fun.”
